Taina Rodriguez-Berardi (she/her/hers) is a scholar-practitioner of yoga’s history, philosophy, traditions, and Sanskrit texts. She earned an MA in Yoga Studies from Loyola Marymount University where she was the Vice-President of the graduate student-body and her research focused on the historical origins, culture, and customs of transnational yoga systems at their intersection with social justice movements and activist communities.

As a yoga teacher and YTT educator (E-RYT 500, RPYT, YACEP), Taina integrates revisionist history storytelling, embodiment practices, movement therapeutics, modern health science, and trauma-informed wellness to create equitable and accessible yoga classes for people of all ages, sizes, shapes, abilities, and backgrounds. Taina truly believes that yoga can be beneficial for everyone and endeavors to create a holistic experience that harmonizes the entire mind/body/spirit/community complex for all her students.

Taina worked for more than 15-years as a marketing and communications executive in the tech industry, leading large international teams developing corporate strategy and marketing campaigns focused on understanding consumer behavior and digital economies in online games and virtual communities. After earning her MBA from San Diego State University, she melded her passions for yoga, with her experience developing corporate strategy and brand marketing campaigns to mentor and consult with non-profit organization, conscious businesses, and social entrepreneurs who aspire to bring wellness to the masses.

Taina grew up in a family of migrant farm workers, union organizers, artists, musicians, and multicultural ambassadors. Her upbringing embraced an earth-classroom education and multi-cultural bridge-building ethos, both of which have played an integral role in her drive and success as a civic leader and active volunteer in academic, local governance, and community focused social justice initiatives including San Diego Latino Film Festival and Media Arts Center San Diego, Prison Yoga + Meditation, California Conference of Equity and Justice and as Vice-President of GSLMU (Graduate Students of Loyola Marymount University) where her focus as an active community advocate and passionate voice ensured that even the most marginalized voices were represented.

Taina lectures at universities, facilitates workshops, teacher trainings, and group classes, and mentors other yoga teachers, entrepreneurs, and conscious business leaders with personalized support. Taina lives with her husband, twin babies, and pastel-calico cat in Fallbrook, CA where they enjoy exploring the beaches, mountains, and backcountry nature spaces of Southern California and beyond.
